The mechanism of scale formation in lime/limestone-gypsum wet process system is very complicated, and there are many influencing factors. Different system operating conditions will produce different types of scaling, different types of scaling may promote and influence each other. The backflow of slurry in the slurry tank and the deposition of particulates in the inlet flue gas are the most common formation mechanisms.
